We had six supporters go (run) the extra mile (13.1 to be exact) for Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire on Sunday 11 October 2026 by taking part in the Oxford Half Marathon!
Not only did they do amazing on the day, they also raised more than £4,200 for our charity to help us support families across the southern area of Oxfordshire! What an amazing achievement! We couldn’t be more proud of our runners and are very grateful they chose our charity to run for. For a small charity like ours, this type of fundraising opportunity does not come along very often.
Special thanks goes to one of our runners, Adam Garner, Plant Manager at Forterra Limited (which has a site local to our Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire office), who raised more than £1,800 including a contribution from Forterra!
If you’re feeling inspired and fancy a challenge for 2027, we have five charity places up for grabs for the Oxford Half Marathon 2027 on Sunday 10 October next year! Register today and be one of our Home-Start Heroes next year!
